YETEC
Our mission is to create opportunities to use computers for all individuals and reduce the technological inequities experienced by low-income and disadvantaged citizens and small businesses in economically distressed neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County. In an effort to eliminate the digital divide, YETEC offers a relaxed and friendly environment for those least likely to have access to computer technology and internet resources. It is YETEC’s goal to increase the local community’s exposure to the world of computer technology and provide work-related skills. |
Flow
FLOW is a collaborative program between The Florida Department of Health and Youth Expressions Inc. We combine traditional peer education training with evocative and stylized art forms to make public health messages for youth.
Over the course of a year, experts from DOH and YE train youth in adolescent health topics and in popular expressive art forms. At the end of this extensive training, youth then create powerful public health messages for their peers. Some youth will participate in a live performance, others might write poetry, and still others may contribute to the creation of a public service announcement. All of these end-products are geared for their peers and focus upon real life scenarios and healthy decision-making. |
